We’ve finalized a date and time to test the toboggan at the Canada Olympic Park skihills. If you’re interested in catching some sledding action, you should be there on Saturday, January 14th at 5pm!

Cookie dough pickup!

We’ve got 474 tubs of cookie dough arriving to the F-Block Civil loading docks Schulich School of Engineering around 9:30am on Wednesday December 7th. This also translates to over $2,100 raised to help fund our team! Thanks to all those who helped out!

The dock is vehicle accessible via Lot 13 (Collegiate Blvd NW, just west of the Nickle Arts/MacHall loop).

GNCTR staffers will be ther ine the morning sorting all the dough and make sure it gets to the right people. GNCTR People: You MUST pick up your dough and original order form by 4:00pm on Wednesday!

There will also be a few extra tubs available on hand that day for direct purchase…so if you somehow missed our drive, this will be your last chance to get your hands on a tub of dough…don’t pass this chance up!

Another bit of swag news to pass on to you.

The GNCTR management will be providing the team members with some beautiful swag in the form of personalized 6 oz stainless steel flasks, engraved with your nickname and polished to a mighty shine (remember kids! It’s important to stay properly hydrated while out and about!!).

We’re submitting the order on the 28th of November, so you should email me (dshopkin1@gmail.com) with your desired nickname by midnight on Sunday the 27th.

Additionally, we’re able to provide additional personalized flasks at a cost of $10 each, as they make mighty fine Christmas gifts. Send me an email with your desired quantity and text for each, and get a payment to me by the 27th (cash or cheques payable to GNCTR Calgary) to be included on the order.

Well…it’s no secret that Engineers are about beverages and good times… and it’s with that in mind that I mention GNCTR 2012′s latest bonding event, the 2011 Pubcrawl.

Here’s everything that you need to know:

Theme: “G is for GNCTR” Dress up as something that begins with the letter ‘G’ (ie: Ghostbuster, Gandalf, Goldmember, Green Giant, etc.) Get creative with this!
Tickets: You can pick up tickets from either Tessa or Kayla, but you’ll want to get them as soon as possible. $12 for GNCTR team members and $15 for non-members. We’ll be setting aside tickets for GNCTR team members until 11:59pm on Sunday the 20th of November, but after that, they’re open to everyone!
When: Friday November 25th. Bus pickup is at the front parking lot of Kilkenny’s at 7:30pm. Feel free to drop by Kilk’s earlier than that for some early drinking.
Where: Ranchmans, the Back Alley & the Amsterdam Rhino in that order.

This’ll be a good one, so don’t miss it!

GNCTR Bottle Drive Fundraising

We’ve managed to raise over $4,500.00 through two bottle drive fundraisers in the communities of Scenic Acres and Varsity! Huge thanks to the people of those communities who donated to support us, and two our team members who took the time out of midterm season to work these drives. This is huge for us! Also, a huge thanks goes out to the Crowfoot Bottle Depot for their assistance and fantastic sorting process, and to the University of Calgary Parking Services for allowing us to use their property as home-base for the Varsity drive.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser

We’re selling In-Dey-Go Cookie Dough again! $15 for 3lb tubs of shear deliciousness.

The order forms have been distributed. If you haven’t received one, extras are available on Jill’s desk in the 3rd/4th year homeroom. Forms (with cheques/cash) need to be returned by November 25- all cheques should be made out to GNCTR Calgary.

The dough will be delivered to F block on December 3. You need to pick up the tubs that day and deliver it to whoever ordered it from you. Contact Jill at saundersj036@gmail.com if you have any questions.
